Cameron Sinning

Hello, my name is Cameron Sinning and I would like to introduce myself as your AlphaNet Coordinator.

I live in Lawton, Oklahoma with my amazing spouse, who I care for, and our pups. I like to go hiking, go out for walks, and work on old model cars. I am a big-time gamer and love to stream it while playing to connect with many amazing people.

My Alpha-1 diagnosis occurred through Ancestry DNA. During my Alpha-1 discovery, I also found out I have an older sister and a younger brother. Upon connecting with my siblings, I learned that my father had Alpha-1, it was genetic, and it was recommended I get tested. This was a lot of information to get all at once. I found a family I didn’t know existed and new health issues to be concerned with.

After being diagnosed with Alpha-1 from the recommended testing, things started to add up. As a child, I found it hard playing any sports not knowing why I was so winded. I’ve played soccer, baseball, and joined a stomp team. When doing any of these activities, I would have to take long breaks and would experience a a stabbing feeling in my back, which made it very hard to take a breath.

When I was first diagnosed with Alpha-1, I had many questions that I needed answered. Speaking to my AlphaNet Coordinator made everything better. My Coordinator reassured me that I would be okay and that there is an amazing community that is here to help. AlphaNet has an abundance of amazing information to share and I look forward to providing you with resources that will help you in your Alpha-1 journey.
